Les immigrés portugais, embauchés dans les ports anglais, importent avec eux leur coutume culinaire : un plat frit de poisson et  pommes de terre. 

Portuguese immigrants  employed in British seaports brought their eating culture with them : "fish and chips" consists of fried fish together with chipped potatoes.

Si le "fish and chips"  à la mode actuellement concurrence le hamburger américain, il faut bien avouer que c’est un produit de l’immigration.

If the fashionable "fish and chips" is competing today with the american hamburger, we must admit that this is a result of immigration.
